Kit and Nate love to hate each other and it's all because of a little spilled coffee on a fancy jacket. In perfect romance form, "because reasons", Kit is hired by Nate's brother to be his assistant after bringing Nate his dry-cleaned jacket. Fast-forward ten months and Nate has been crushing hard for Kit. How ever will these two fools finally get together? Oh I know - the local kink club has their annual Halloween party which is a perfect time to get your consensual workplace relationship started.

The couple in this book are not like the other couples in the series; they are not into BDSM and have minor kinks. Kit is a voyeur and Nate has a service kink. A lot of this book is spent watching other people's scenes: we see bobbing for apples but with anal (clever, actually), a Domme fisting her sub. We even have a scene with Nate spanking another club member - someone he's played with before. So I liked that this gave us a view of the book's kink world through the POV of people who are not "in the scene" but just passing through or are not really sure if it is the right place for them. Their unfamiliarity with how a scene works or how to talk to one another about what exactly they want is evident when they are finally away from the rest of the kinksters: they want to fuck but gosh what about work and I thought I hated you but you're so hot, why are you so hot?? They fight their attraction until they don't and when they stop fighting, it was amazing to see!

What didn't work for me was Kit hitting Nate in the chest prior to them hooking up. I get the emotional turmoil they've both been in but it's not an excuse. Also, everyone is enmeshed which is common in romance series. It's not a deal-breaker for me - just something I am questioning the reliance on it. Outside of those things, I enjoyed this book! Hannah writes kink dynamics well!
