It is so cool picking these stories apart and trying to find meaning behind them. The inter texts are even cooler, my goodness! ( ) In this rendition of Rapunzel, illustrated by Maja Dusikova, Rapunzel is stolen away as a baby by the evil witch and locked in a tower. The witch climbs up to the top of the tower daily to visit Rapunzel using Rapunzel's golden hair. One day a Prince hears beautiful singing, climbs to the top of the tower using her hair and they fall in love. The evil witch finds out about their love and tries to foil their plans. Can they live happily ever after? The illustrations in this book are absolutely beautiful. Children of all ages will enjoy this timeless classic and love the stunning illustrations. This story about Rapunzel is vey similar to the one that I grew up hearing. It is about a girl who had beautiful, long hair and lived in a tower. She was taken from her parents as a little baby by a witch and lives with her locked in a tower. She is not allowed outside the tower. The witch took her because Rapunzel's father stole the Rapunzel plant from his garden and she was angry about this. One day, a prince stopped by her tower and said " Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair." He did this so her could get closer to her. They both fall in love at the end of the book, and as all fairy tales end, they lived happily ever after. It was interesting for me to see how the illustrator brought this old fairytale to life. You could tell how everyone felt in the pictures and what was going on in the story. One of the things that i didnt remember from the story was that as a result of the prince trying to find Rapunzel after the witch banished her, the witch threw him out of the tower and he was blinded. he went to try and find Rapunzel. When he did, she started to cry and the tears cured him of his blindness. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
