I appreciated the range of authors and story types, as some definitely pulled me in more than others. Above all, it was interesting to see through these small windows into these women's lives, though it would have been appreciated if there was additional historical and biographical context given.

An interesting collection of stories. Some of the authors I was familiar with, but not all of the stories. I appreciated reading Susan Glaspell's story because as a theatre student I was more familiar with the play "Trifles". These stories give us a glimpse into what life was like for people in our recent past, and how hard it was to navigate that life depending on who you were & how you lived. The stories also reminded me that while we may have made progress, it hasn't been enough.

I received the book through library thing’s early reviewers. I appreciate the elevation of great women writers that may or may not have been overlooked; however, there wasn’t much to the critique or conversation about the books — maybe a page? Couple of paragraphs? It’s just disappointing to receive that marketed itself on its “insightful look” wasn’t very insightful — it wasn’t anything but booked reprinted, books that another reviewer mentioned but all in the public domain. A collection of engrossing stories that make it necessary to pull yourself back into the present and leave you thinking long after you have finished them. It is easy to see why these women are considered trailblazers. How many other women writers did we miss out on? We are glad of having these. ( )

Cheeky, irreverent, poignant and surprising - short stories by Trailblazing Women doesn't disappoint! I enjoyed the stories, dating back to Nineteen and Twentieth century, written by unmistakenly female point of view, paving the way for women writers to come.
