Molly doesn't date men.Lachlan doesn't date period. So can they stick to the script? Molly Rose's final grad school project is to stage the play she wrote. How on earth did her girlfriend find the absolute perfect cast for the kilt-wearing Scotsman role? Well, he looks the part, but he knows nothing about acting. It hasn't escaped anyone's notice that Lachlan Adair is ruggedly handsome. Molly's polycule insists she keep an open mind, but she hasn't dated a man since a series of disastrous attempts in high school, and she certainly doesn't intend to start now. Lachlan doesn't know how he got roped into helping out with this MFA student's thesis project, but she's so curvy and cute. And she seems to like his accent.Apparently she has a girlfriend and lives in a house full of other freaky folks. No big deal. When the play is over, their fling will be too. Right? Molly lives with her girlfriend Poe, Poe's brother Jason and his girlfriend, Cynda. The four identify as a polycule. There is no romantic crossover between the two couples; all four members can date outside their relationship. As this story begins, Jason and Cynda are dating Darth (a he), and Poe is dating Delaney (a she).
This is Molly and Lachlan's story. Molly is studying at Indiana University, where she is about to complete her Master Of Fine Arts degree. A significant part of her assessment takes the form of a stage play, which she
has written and must produce and direct.
Molly is having trouble casting a lead for her play. Poe suggests Lachlan, a university employee, for the part and sends him to Molly's office. He is just what she's looking for, and despite having no theatre experience, he agrees to join her cast.
The attraction between Molly and Lachlan is immediate and mutual, and awkward flirting soon leads to more. This is very much their story - Molly's relationship is referred to as a "vee" in that she is romantically involved with Poe and Lachlan, but there is no romantic involvement between her two partners (Poe is not into men).
Molly and her polycule are admirably sex-positive, and there is a lot of sex-related talk around their home, but the only sexy times we see on the page are between Molly and Lachlan. And they're hot and abundant!
This is the first book in a series. The next book, due in a few months, focuses on a new couple (he and he) and the person they become involved with (a she). Their names are mentioned in this book, but we don't meet them on the page. ( )
