The accompanying booklet 'The Building of Stonehenge' includes an Introduction as well as a supposition on The Builders including the theories that the monument was built by Giants, Merlin and King Arthur, Aliens, Atlanteans or more erroneously than any of those; The Druids!
The chapter Creating Stonehenge covers the three phases of development of the site from Stoneage roots to the incomplete final stage of modifications between 1900 BC and 1700 BC of which only the W and Z holes were dug for further stones which were never erected.
A chapter Written In Stone covers the theories that Stonehenge was used among other things, as an ancient observatory.
The final chapter Build Your Own covers instructions for the model kit itself.
The publisher goes out if there way to inform the reader that 'This book has been bound using handcrafted methods and Smyth-sewn to ensure durability' although due to the understandably limited information printed within its pages, I cannot see myself flicking through the pages more than once (which I have now done).
The tiny model kit however does not disappoint, as one reconstructs this majestic monument between finger and thumb you can be forgiven for being overcome by a feeling of omnipotence. ;) ( )
