It took some liberties with the Robin story - mostly at the end (when Richard comes back) having them under active attack by Prince John et al. The evocation of the period was very nicely done, though. The main character, the mute boy mostly referred to (in his own mind) as Dummy, is...well, he's OK. I like him, he's perfectly nice - but his muteness is just a trifle convenient at times. That is, he's occasionally able to talk when he needs to. Other than that - a nice selection of Robin stories, Dummy is well-integrated, as I said before the world and time are nicely evoked. The end is a bit convenient, and Dummy's discovered past even more so, but as a children's book it'll pass. Glad I read it, doubt I'll reread. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
