I found the book a little repetitive. But this is always the case with short stories. The bad things happen over a few chapters. She then makes a wish and then looks for confirmation that she hasn't been born numerous thimes with 'maybe I haven't been born' at the end of each paragraph and Roland keeps getting called her little brother. It ends with a game show like a couple of things on Sabrina. But I find that funny. It then ended quite quickly after the game show and after having her bad day for a couple of chapters and then Sabrina looking for everyones life without her for a couple of chapters, the game show was a bit short and I felt a little rushed.
The writing style is also quite American and I thought this could be a little more neutral as it is an international programme, but this is minor. For example:
pg 102 'my Irish grandmother used to fix Irish breakfast tea for me
111 'I want to go look at our old photo albums'
114 get the hint and quit talking
117 'you bet' 'did you ever see it?'
47 'we don't give to charity that way, either. My husband gave at the office'
55 'I never met a sabrina in my whole life'
1 'I never figured you for the Scrooge type'.
Overall the book is a mice short read and I have rated on that bases, however it not an essential read. ( )
