And I can't imagine any of my children sitting still for this, either. Pretty pictures and a good message - Hallmark movie? ( ) Mama's girl is about a poor girl whose Mom work's extra jobs and sews beautiful dresses for rich girls. The little girl receives a hand-me down dress but wishes for the beautiful dress in the store window. She begs for it and offers to work for,but she must take care of her brothers so her mom can work. Her mom surprises her and gives her the money to buy the dress, but then her brother gets hurt. They will need the money for the hospital, and she makes her mom proud by giving it up without being told. Her mom stays up all night and turns the hand-me down dress into a beautiful dress that looks brand new. The mom who never has extra will always find time for her children. The questions I would ask are: What type of things does your mom do for you? Anyone have to wear hand- me downs? This was a wonderful book that shows children how much their parents really do care about them. This would be a great book to read to 3-5 graders. I’m sure any child could relate to this book in some way and it would be a great topic to write about. A student may write about the struggles in their life or giving to others that may not have as much as they do. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
