Chapters 37 - 42: The story arc involving Julia comes to an end during this volume but there is still plenty of drama going on. Sano's younger brother makes a brief appearance as well as a photographer interested in having Minami, Sano, & Nakatsu model for him. I look forward to reading more of this series. ( ) I'm not a huge fan of Julia, but she did me proud in this volume. Still, I was kind of happy to see her go. As I always say, I'm really enjoying the plot progression. It's slow, but still moving. This new plotline with Mr. Kitahama makes me very uncomfortable, and I'm not sure why. I just get a very insidious feeling about it. The students are back from their trip to Hokkaido, and this volume spends a good amount of time letting the characters reflect on everything that happened. Sano and Ashiya bumped into each other in the hot springs! Sano saw his younger brother who told him to get lost! Sano wrapped Ashiya in his coat! Nanba wouldn't leave Julia alone! Honestly, though, the book spends at least fifty pages detailing the memories of these events and how everyone feels, which makes for a slow read. Besides rehashing the past, the characters study for exams, Nakatsu works extra hard at soccer, Sano receives a call from his mom, and a photographer wants Nanba, Sano, and Nakatsu to be models. That''s right - models. A girl took a picture of them in Hokkaido, which earned a number one spot in some ridiculous girl magazine that is all about hot boys. Hara the photographer saw the article and wants them to model this new fashion line. I remember being unimpressed with the whole model story line before, and I still am. It is just a vehicle for putting the boys in different outfits for fan service. I never engaged with it, and find it boring this second time around, too. On the plus side, the interactions between the group of friends at Osaka continues to be full of charm and humor, Sano and Ashiya never fail to be cute, I love it when Kayashima reads Nakatsu's aura and reveals his 'hidden' feelings, and the boys are still hot. Umeda's reaction to Hara's name is also wonderful, and brings anticipation for their meeting in the future. As for the plot, the best moments were discovering Shin ran away (hoping this narrative line is much more developed), and the evil teacher who shows up towards the very end of the manga, with a vendetta against the boys featured in the magazine. These notes promise more interesting volumes to come, and I look forward to them. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
