This is an omnibus of James Blish's classic Trek novelizations (though short storyizations is more accurate), specifically Star Treks 1, 4, and 9 (kinda random). It was typical James Blish. The early stuff was most interesting, since it would often wildly differ from the episodes. (originally written January 2005)

More classic Star Trek episodes turned into short stories. The book calls them 'novelizations', but they are far too short. More classic episodes, including Charlie's Law, Balance of Terror, All Our Yesterdays, The Menagerie, The Ultimate Computer, etc. The author list is not as impressive as volume 1, some of the authors I've never heard of since, but this is still good classic Star Trek reading, long before Star Trek became a genre on its own. The second volume of James Blish's slightly inept novelizations of the original Star Trek episodes. Not particularly well-adapted; useful for reference material at best. ( )
