The pictures exactly follow the words therefore it can also work perfectly for a nonverbal student as a picture walk. Teachers can ask many questions to get the students critically thinking as well as create experiments for the students to use hands on in classrooms. The short text also helps for students learning English or how to read to not get easily overwhelmed. This book is a great guided reading book. The pictures and the words match up, so students are able to get clues from the pictures if they are not able to read the words yet. The text is also not too complex, so students are able to read it when they still have trouble with some texts. This book would be great for the classroom. This is a short text that explains what water is like as a liquid. This book would be an excellent choice for guided reading because it follows a pattern that students can follow easily. Teachers can activate students critical thinking when asking questions and getting the students involved in reading the text. This would be a great guided reading book because teachers can also use it to teach topics such as sight words, letters, and possibly sentence structures. Because it is a shorter text, students wont get overwhelmed as easily when reading it. Water as a Liquid is a perfect text for for guided reading because of the repetition and only small differences in the sentences from page to page. The simple structure in this book is what lends itself to great guidance and engagement with the student, by the teacher. However, this book is syntactically challenging to beginning and emergent readers, so miscues can be analyzed and it can be used for judging reading level of younger grades. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
