It was fairly predictable and I'm never the person who can guess what's going to happen. The characters didn't feel real to me. They felt kind of flat to me or just one note. It was just an ok read. ( ) This was a great book and I flew through it. I thought the plot twist was quite predictable. The author took forever to "reveal" it to the reader which was slightly annoying because I'm sure most readers had already picked up on the subtle clues and figured it out chapters and chapters before the reveal. Even so, this book was very enjoyable and entertaining and I recommend it! I loved this story of 2 friends who become as close as sisters. It is a coming-of-age story that begins in the late sixties and spans a twenty year period, chronicling their elementary school years, on into junior high and high school. Boyfriends, broken hearts, experimenting with drugs and alcohol...how this two girls stayed friends despite some very serious situations that arise. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good coming-of-age tale. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
As an only child, Janet longs for a sister her parents are unable to give her. In kindergarten she meets Sophie, a strange and imaginative girl with a troubled family life. As friendship grows between the two girls, Janet believes her prayers have been answered, especially when members of her family embrace Sophie as one of their own. Sophie's troubles continue to follow her through high school, and Janet stands by her "sister" until, in adulthood, she learns of a devastating secret Sophie has kept from her. Janet's world is turned upside down-and she discovers there may be a limit to what sisters should share. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
