This book will appeal especially to preschool boys, but girls will find enough to like as well. The book is set up using tabs along the outer edge grouping the alphabet in order. Johnny Tractor takes children through the farm labeling things with each letter. Pictures are real photographs, along with additional, colorful illustrations on each page. Each page also has some way to interact with the text such as a lever to pull or a texture to feel. I think this book will be read over and over...good thing it's a board book!

John Deere has a few children's concept books. Farm ABC goes through the alphabet and each letter has something that starts with the letter and is found on a farm. Under each word is a sentence about it. Throughout and the book there are things to touch and also a few things to move. This book not only can been used for teaching the alphabet, but also for teaching about farms.
