As a father of pre-school age children, I've spent many hours in the past year thinking and reading about education. [b:Excused Absence|803132|Excused Absence|Douglas Wilson|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1348206782s/803132.jpg|789092] by [a:Douglas Wilson|30465|Douglas Wilson|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1231837305p2/30465.jpg] is an excellent book to challenge your thinking on the subject. He tackles the very nature of education and puts it into context of the modern American educational system. While I didn't come to all the same convictions and conclusions as him, I could not walk away from this book without thinking deeply on many important questions about how I choose to educate my children.
I highly recommend [b:Excused Absence|803132|Excused Absence|Douglas Wilson|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1348206782s/803132.jpg|789092], not so that you will agree with everything in the book but that it will force you to encounter important educational issues using a Biblical worldview and parent on purpose.
