This is an excellent resource for anyone researching their family history. It gave me a deeper appreciation for what my grandparents and great-grandparents went through to give me the gift of a better life than what they had. The book is well organized and presents the immigrant experience in a sensitive and interesting way. I could not stop reading it! (

This is an excellent book describing the history of the immgration station at Ellis Island. By the way if you get a chance to do it go on the Federal Parks and Recreatin harbour cruise, it gets you into the base of the Statue of Liberty and the Museum at Ellis Island. The museum is gorgeous and interesting. They have done an excellent job of restoring the place, and you can search your ancestors there as well. (
