Another great collection of poems from my favorite poet. ( )

The poem that I wanted to focus on in this collection is called "One Boy Told Me". This poem does not rhyme, but the flow is wonderful. It is a collection of random phrases the poet's son has said, and she puts them together to make something that kind of makes sense, which is cool. I love how the phrases put such vivid pictures in your mind, yet the picture could be completely different from others. Phrases such as "I'm carrying my box of faces. If I want to change faces, I will", really lend itself to the imagination. Another thing I love about this poem is that it is great for all ages. Whether a kid or adult, there is something in it for all. It can be hard to pinpoint a point for poems, especially for me, but if there were a big idea to this poem it would be that children can see the world with wondrous eyes. ( )
