La manière de tourner, la mise en scène, le cadrage, l'impression d'improvisation permanente font de ce film une petite révolution cinématographique en 1968. C'est résolument nouveau et innovant.
En somme, Faces fait partie de ces marqueurs incontournables du cinéma, si efficace dans sa manière cynique de filmer la bêtise, la grossièreté et l'hystérie permanente qu'il en devient régulièrement à la limite du supportable pour le spectateur.
