I couldn't believe all the main character had to go through. (I didn't like the constant use of the 's' word but she was very stressed out. ( ) Started out reading this thinking that I might not want to read this book. I wasn't interested in a book about Tracking (I thought). About mid-point I got into it & couldn't put it down. The last few chapters I cried like a baby. It was probably one of the best I ever read. This is a keeper to be recommended & re-read again & again. A woman tracker who is of indian heritage is an established tracker & her boyfriend are in the Tanami desert in Australia. Boyfriend goes to town to pick up supplies & to get his 10yr old daughter. Altho she is a tracker, she is out of her realm in the desert, her expertise is in snow & woods. This book leads us through the days, nights-moments- of her survival. Her thoughts & reminicing of her family & the Reservation that she grew up on plaque her. What happens to her & howits resolved bring me to tears. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
