This book is about a father and son who enjoy spending time together. They sing songs, make breakfast, climb trees, and more. They do everything together and they travel to the son's grandparents house and they are all filled with joy.

This Pura Belpre book is about the love between a dad and his son. This book describes events that occur throughout the day and highlights the love found between these two family members. The Spanish words are woven throughout and are use to translate due to the context (the words are in italics though). The author and illustrator provide a short summary of their life and why they wrote this book. This would be great for primary readers.

This book depicts a loving relationship between a father and son. We see the two spend a fun day together at home and the park, finishing up at the grandparents' house. The book uses Spanish throughout the book without explicit definitions. Instead you are able to determine the meaning from context clue and illustrations. The illustrations are my favorite part of the book. To me these picture give off a warm feeling, much like the father and son's relationship. ( )
