He was born into a big family in New York who loved to write in a journal. After graduating from Cornell, White needed to travel around the world for inspiration. He spent a few years traveling West and returned home to New York after he ran out of money. I learned that E.B. White was one of the original writer to write for "The New Yorker." After accepting a full time position at the Magazine is where White fell in love with his loving wife Katherine. I found it interesting that she was seven years older than him with two children of her own and was married at the time her and White met. After a few years of marriage White and Katherine had a son of their own named Joel. I love how involved White was with Joel and his two step children. Throughout the story I learned how and why his children's books were created. "Stuart Little" is one of my favorite children's book and it all came from a dream to White. Living on farm White became very familiar with his livestock which is where "Charlotte's Web" characters were inspired. Throughout White's life him and his family back and forth from New York to Maine which is very funny to me because White had to travel in his early life too. I learned a lot about E.B. White life from this book and know I want to go back and read his children's book and I may get another outlook from his stories. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
