I like this book because Lynne is obviously not a pulitzer writer. And I like that she writes about all of her children equally; basically none of us know about Bryan, but it really helps to see where this woman has come from. She hasn't had an easy life and to bring up one of the biggest pop stars of our time during it all....I give her major kudos. ( )

I read this book in one day, Jury Duty is boring, but this book was not. I expected to hear the stories we've heard through the years about Brit and Jamie Lynn, but what I liked is the faith that Lynn Spears has in her heart and how she loves and trusts God. I love memoirs and will read anyone's, and I am glad I didn't miss this one, although I almost didn't read it because I wasn't sure if this was going to be a 'woe is me' book, but it wasn't. ( )

okay, I know...I'm a little embarrassed for reading this, but it was quick and sort of touching. Clearly the story of folks in over their heads and looking for some sort of redemption/understanding.

Really interesting, it really builds your sympathy toward Lynn Spears and make you think twice before judging her as a mother or a person. ( )

Not a juicy tell all but rather a story of Lynn Spears life. Mostly about her childhood and growing up and early marriage with Jamie Spears. Most of what she says about her daughters is what you've read in the papers or through her exclusive interviews. Its not a parenting book, it's not a tell all, and Its not a deep spiritual book on the power of God. I'm not quite sure what to call it. The first half of the book is better than the last half of the book which is very disjointed. If you are curious about the woman in the pictures with Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears then this is the book for you. While I cannot say that I know or understand anymore about Lynn or the Spears family after reading this book, I do have a little more empathy. For me the point that stuck out the most is that Lynn's biggest regret was giving up her teaching career so her daughters could find fame and fortune. While most mothers don't go on to raise pop stars they do struggle with losing their own identity while raising children. ( )
