The First Season usually produced very strong episodes--many of Star Trek's best. The episodes on the DVD present a mixed bag though. "Tomorrow is Yesterday" is a fun episode, by D.C. Fontana, the script editor who wrote many of Trek's finest episodes, and marks the first episode featuring time travel--to the 20th century natch. "The Return of the Archons" is a decent episode, but not one anyone would argue is one of the finer ones. It's a very typical episodes, where Kirk and company, constrained supposedly by the Prime Directive, nevertheless make computers go Boom... ( )
