I loved this book! I started reading it late last night, and got so into it that I finished it all in one go. This is the first BSC book I've ever read that primarily takes place in California, as opposed to Stoneybrook. This book is about Dawn, while she's living in California with her dad and brother, and her babysitting jobs are not through the BSC but through the We Love Kids Club. She takes on a semi-long-term "babysitting" job as a companion to a girl with Down's Syndrome, who is only a year younger then Dawn. Whitney is very sweet and Dawn quickly becomes friends with her... The only problem is, Whitney has no idea that Dawn is getting paid to hang out with her. It's soooo sad when she finds out, she is totally crushed and feels so betrayed, and rightly so! I really think Dawn should've insisted on being straight with Whitney from the beginning (Whitney's parents knew that she wouldn't want a babysitter because she tries really hard to be grown-up and capable).
{spoiler!}
And at the end, when the We Love Kids Club decides to make Whitney an Honorary Member..... Awww! I totally had tears in my eyes! It was so sweet! ( )
