It's simply about a puppy who hears a quite noise and ponders what that quite noise could have been. In thinking of the different things that could've made the noise, the puppy thinks of a variety of possibilities ranging from ridiculous to average. The book was really effective in allowing me to imagine all of the sounds it suggests in the book. Eventually the puppy realizes that they were hearing the subtle beginning of a new day. This book felt natural and endearing. The style of illustrations were also pleasant and consistent. ( ) It has beautiful illustrations and that is the best part about it because the storyline makes no sense at all. It was almost insulting that this would be good enough for children. Good books reach through different ages and this one does not do that, older students could not use it. I just think younger children deserve better than just pretty pictures, it also needs to be educational and make sense. This is a good book for young readers to learn how to question. The book talks about all of the different characteristics of the morning. For example, alarm clocks ringing, a morning breeze, and a grasshopper sneezing. The book brings up a point that basically when the sun rises it is quiet but also noisy because of all the previous things mentioned. The author website is http://www.margaretwisebrown.com/.
