In my opinion, this is a very helpful book because it teaches children ways to conserve resources. This book helps children understand how saving water and recycling can be incredibly important for the environment by giving statistics on how being wasteful can negatively impact the Earth. The art is probably my favorite part of this book as everything was drawn and painted by children on recycled paper. I have never seen a book like this and think it is a very creative way to do illustrations. I also thought it was very interesting that they included how the book was made using recycled paper. I did not even understand how it was done, so it was very fascinating to learn how. I also really liked that there was a section in the back about ways to take care of the environment and it could be filled in. That seems like it would be a very interesting activity for students to do after reading the book. This book would be extremely useful as a supplement to a lesson plan about the environment. ( ) I really liked that this book introduced recycling to young students. The text also provides alternatives such as walking to school instead of riding in cars. I loved that the illustrations were all done by the Kindergarten students that wrote the story. Each picture for the "green" alternative is happy and smiling, but the pictures for the "not so green" alternative are sad to make the reader understand the importance of recycling. The pictures tell the story without being too fancy and I think children can relate to that. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
