He also tells us about the different kinds of money, such as paper money, coins, and plastic money, known as a credit card. This was very interesting and educational. ( ) This book was very informative about money and taught me things I did not know. It went over the history of money, how it is made, and what the future of money might be. Although this book is very informative and at times interesting, I found that it was somewhat dragged out. I found myself loosing interest, possibly because I am not a big history person, towards the end of the book. I cannot help but think if I was loosing interest, would other young readers? Overall, I do think that this book would be beneficial during a social studies class and to have in my classroom library. This book is all about money...the ways to make money, the different types of money and the value of money. Before there was money people bartered and traded for things. People were paid in salt, cod, corn, rice, animals or even chocolate. The history of gold was discussed; the largest gold nugget weighed 154 pounds and Egyptian pharaohs buried gold so they would be rich in the next world. The creation of coins and bills is taught and the idea of collecting coins is introduced. There is not one aspect about money left out of the book. They even have a section about identifying fake money! I would recommend this book to grades 1-5 and I think high school and college students could learn from this book. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
