This book resembles the fairytale of Rumpelstiltskin but with a southern twist. Bessie Grace is a 19 year old widow with a little daughter Claretta. Bessie got locked in a shed full of cotton and a man takes her baby away. Then a little man comes turns the cotton into gold and Bessie makes the mistake of saying you could have anything. And when the little man comes back, he wants her daughter. But Bessie and her daughter go searching through the night and they find the little man singing and she hears his name and she says it to him and she is off the hook. This is more like a real life fairytale/folklore. This is a nice book with a twist to the original story. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
