In Working with Guides and Angels, Ruth White highlights the areas in which our guiding angels can help us. She says that we can call on our guides and angels to help us to widen our viewpoints, and experience the joy, laughter and celebration that surrounds us. She explains that guides and angels are beings of light who are eager to connect with us and support all of us on our individual journeys. In this accessible and practical book Ruth explains the purpose of guides and angels in our lives, how we can learn to communicate with them and what to expect. She also includes simple exercises to help us to make contact. Throughout, Ruth draws on her personal experience with angels and provides information on her well-known discarnate guide, Gildas. I did not find it at all readable and did not get through it.
The author tells us of her “”discarnate guide”, Gildas, who communicates with her daily, but as far as I could see we are not given the benefit of Gildas’ wisdom.
There is at least one exercise in each chapter but I did not find these appealing.
We’re told that we all have a guardian angel and at least one guide.
There are three main angelic realms and each realm has three sub—divisions.
The angels closest to the divine energy are called Heavenly Counsellors.
There are highly evolved angels called Seraphim, “true light workers” called Cherubim, and Thrones, who are “the angelic overseers” of each planet. Each planet has it own throne.
The next angelic realm is composed of Heavenly Governors, whose sub-divisions are Dominions, Virtues and Powers.
The third angelic realm is the Messengers, whose sub-divisions are the Principalities, the Archangels and ”Angels without other titles”.
As regards Lucifer, the author does not see him as a bringer of evil, but as “the closest companion to the human journey”. Lucifer made an important sacrifice in order to journey with us.
Even Hitler had a guardian angel, but it is not our angel’s task to live our lives for us. If we are determined on a certain course, like Hitler was, our angels cannot override us.
This is not a book I would particularly recommend though it does provide some information. ( )
