This was a very quick book and it only took me a few hours to read. The whole story takes place during Christmas Eve night. A little boy is taken hostage by a man who's escaped from prison. The format is a bit different from a lot of the other books I've read by this author. A lot of the books I've read by her have many POV and you don't know who committed the crime. In this book there are a few different POV but you know the whole time who the bad guy is and there isn't a mystery but it is suspenseful as you wait to see what's going to happen.
It happens on Christmas Eve but it didn't feel very Christmassy. It held my interest but I wouldn't say that I would recommend it.
There is some blasphemy and the bad guy is quite bad and not remorseful and it had a bit of a darker feel to the story. ( )

A special Christmas story about the power of love, and a child's courage and faith. A family visiting a very sick Dad on Christmas Eve takes a very dangerous turn when mom drops her wallet at Rockefeller Center and another lady picks it up and walks away. Brian, the oldest son, follows the lady to retrieve mom's wallet back because it has lots of money in it and his Grandpa's St. Christopher medal. The same medal that saved his life in WWII and which Brian believed would save his own Dad's life.

I've never read any of Mary Higgins Clark's books but now I know what I've been missing. This was fast paced and heart felt. A great mystery that I had no idea where it was leading. The best kind, in my opinion. ( )
