This is another anthology of essays, quotes, and poems about books and reading. I have read several books like this and I've even read a lot of these quotes before. It's a small book and I read it one rainy morning early in the month. Don't know why I love books about books so much but I do. This one wasn't as good as some, but I enjoyed it. It's a pretty little book. The illustrations were especially nice, I just wish there had been more of them as they started repeating after awhile. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Glaspey brings together a lot of quotes from famous people about books: how to read them, when to drop them, how fulfilling they can be, etc. But none of the quotes are really snappy. I do like the poem by Emily Dickinson: "There is no Frigate like a book." And several of the quotes are well-known favorites.
And that's about it. The pictures are nice and go tolerably well with the quotes, but there isn't much more to it, and I think it's a book that could be passed without incurring any terrible loss. ( )
