The first volume introduced us to the Bible code and was not very good. This volume goes nutty. The Hebrew translations are iffier than in the first book. Where Drosnin goes way off the deep end is that he introduces us to a Sitchin-like theory that the Bible code AND our human DNA (or rather Dalet-Nun-Alef) came from some technologically advanced alien race! Wow! Also, there is a palpable sense that Drosnin doesn't like conservatives, e.g. Bush "stole" the election and Sharon is portrayed as a warmonger while Peres is a saint. (And Arafat is a good guy at heart!) A quick read for fun. Also, Drosnin writes like this is an extended newspaper article! I think the majority of paragraphs are comprised of one sentence! If you want to know more about the Bible code, read Satinover. The information at the end of the book taking on code critics like McKay was interesting and should be built upon if Drosnin wants his books taken seriously. (He should get a co-author as well). Also, lastly, the "Countdown" mentioned is supposed to be the end of the world (properly, "End of Days") in the Hebrew year 5766, which has now passed: it is 5767. Will Drosnin admit that Bush's policies postponed the end of the world and Armageddon? I won't hold my breath. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
