This book is about a spirited red-haired girl with boundless imagination and love of life. Anne is an orphan who is sent to a family by mistake, but goes on to win the heart and love of her adopted family. Uses in the classroom for this would be for the children to write the favorite parts of this book and to list the ups and downs that Anne had while being accepted into her new family. Appropriate for grades 1-5 because it is a beginning level adaptation of the original novel, which would be too challenging for early readers.
