Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert of Green Gables had no intention of adopting the talkative, mischievous, red-headed girl the orphanage in Nova Scotia sent by mistake. What they wanted was a sturdy, sensible boy to help with the chores. Instead, they got eleven-year-old Anne Shirley, whose capacity for adventure was only matched by her bright spirit and love of life. Still, there was something about the little girl that gave them second thoughts. She was keen of wit with a scintillating effervescence that was purely captivating. Just perhaps ...… (meer)

Wat Katy deed door Susan Coolidge (humouress)
humouress: It's been a few years since I read this book, but it was a staple of my childhood. It has a similar feel to "Little Women" and "Little House on the Prairie", and is about Katy and her family. Katy starts out as a not very nice little girl, but becomes more sympathetic and likeable as the story progresses. She has adventures and gets into scrapes, but eventually turns into a young lady, much as Anne does.… (meer)

This story's main character is Anne who lived an orphanage. She is adopted into Matthew and Marilla by mistake. However, they liked her due to her character. For, she was a chat and positive, kind girl, and hard worker. I like her, too. This book is interesting because I can watch her growing. Especially, I like her love story... I recommend you this book. This book is appropriate for grades 3- 8th grade. This book hasn't received any awards. This book is about a spirited red-haired girl with boundless imagination and love of life. Anne is an orphan who is sent to a family by mistake, but goes on to win the heart and love of her adopted family. Uses in the classroom for this would be for the children to write the favorite parts of this book and to list the ups and downs that Anne had while being accepted into her new family.

Appropriate for grades 1-5 because it is a beginning level adaptation of the original novel, which would be too challenging for early readers. This novel is about an 11-year-old orphan named Anne, who is mistakenly sent to prince Edward Island to live with a middle-aged brother and sister. Anne discovers a sense of home at Green Gables, but this is not an easy process for her. Addresses loneliness, changes, home, discovering new places, and hardship. In the classroom, use for read aloud or independent silent reading. This book may be a bit challenging for first graders, and a bit easy for some fourth graders.

This is one of my favorite story. Anne was an orphan child, but one day she was brought to the house of
Cuthbert by a mistake.Marilla and Matthew were going to welcome a boy.But after all they decided to grow her
as their child. After she became their child , her school life started and faced many things.
This is one of Anne' story. I recommend this book to you! ( )
