Such fun use of double meanings making silly jokes that kids will enjoy. At one point a marker "has the runs," really don't want the "ewwwwww"'s that are sure to follow that line. Illustrations are primitively drawn with bright colors, enhancing the "art project" feel of the story. ( ) Tougas, Chris. Art's Supplies. Orca Book Publishers, 2010. This is an e-book that I got through Tubmle Books at the LACounty Public Library website. It was free and didn't require a card to access. The main character is a little boy named Art and his supplies. As he turnes to a blank page his supplies add their own abilities to the work. They call it a party. They are having so much fun creating a picture. The illustrations are humourous and engaging. The e-book format is kid-friendly. The message is about enjoying the process of experimenting with your art supplies. It's like a party. I would use this to introduce art to students who are very young. Age Group: 5-8 years old. "In this delightful tale of the power of the imagination, Art's suppiles come to life in the studio, creating mayhem and magic--and art! Pastels, pencils and paints, crayons, brushes and markers, everything gets in the act of creating a mess-terpiece of fun."--Jacket. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
