This is a cute story about two boys becoming friends at the park. It seemed mean but at first, Jake did not want to play with Tom. I am sure that Jake was afraid of seeing Tom in the chair. After encouragement from his father, Jake decides to go and talk to Tom. When he does he finds out that they have similar interests and Tom is pretty awesome. I like that the book showed what Tom can do even though he was unable to walk and run. It also showed that he is a kid just like his peers. I thought it was great that Jake helped Tom to get on and off the merry-go-round. It was also nice that Tom wins in a race every time considering Jake didn't think that could happen. ( )
