The book starts off stating Henry Ford created dependable automobiles. He changed America and then the world. The illustration on the fourth page is very comical; drawn are horses rioting because now they've been put out of business. He grew up on a farm but hated the hard farm work. He tinkered in his father's work shed finding ways to use machines to make farm work easier. The first portable steam engine was produced in the late 1800s and Ford was fascinated with the idea that a machine could travel down the road on its own power. At 16, he traveled to Detroit and apprenticed at different shop to learn about mechanics. He learned a lot and built his first gasoline engine and it was a success. Then he started to build a larger one that'll be powerful enough to run a vehicle. He called it a quadricycle. Then came race cars, and when everyone wanted one, he started assembly lines to keep up with the demand. During WWI, Ford provided a lot of vehicles such as cars snd ambulances. He passed peacefully in his home at the age of 83. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
