"In 1965, when Thomas McKenna received his first shield, he was told he had just been handed a ticket to the greatest show on earth. In a career that spans thirty years, McKenna has led the life that every armchair detective dreams of and has become widely regarded as one of the best homicide detectives New York City has to offer." "With his morning coffee, Detective McKenna begins the day puzzling out some of the most horrible tragedies that Manhattan has ever seen. This book provides a first-hand look into some of the city's most provocative cases, including The Central Park Jogger case, in which a female stockbroker is raped and brutally beaten by a group of thugs out "wilding"; The Preppie Murder, in which "rough sex" between a couple of New York society youths ends up with a young woman murdered and Robert Chambers in jail for her death; and The Baby Maldonado case, recently featured on television's America's Most Wanted, which pulled the plug on a team of murderers and baby-snatchers." "All of these cases and many more are revealed in this page-turning account that will give readers an inside view of how a metropolitan police force tries to make the streets safer. Manhattan North Homicide is an eye-opening look into the life of a true superdetective."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc. All Rights Reserved… (meer)

It was good. I would give it nothing more than that. I liked it but I didn't love it. It was good. Nothing amazing or, really, memorable about it. I'm really glad I read it though. ( )
