This biography titled Susan Humphris is focused on how she’s a geologists who have contributed much to the science world and its’ development. This book does not have chapters but they have different sections where they focus on different aspects but important aspects of her life and life experiences. This book also shows readers illustrations with interesting equipment and life explorations. Beneath each picture author Liza Murrow shows us how things work and what is going on in the picture. Pictures of maps and models give an emphasis on how important this equipment and her findings are. Some pictures even show us how her in action and illustrating her demonstrating something. This causes her to interact with the audience in a way that demonstrates how important this stuff comes from her.

In the end of the book, there is a glossary that can help students understand the text more clearly. Some of the words in the glossary may be understood by adults but not by students so it explains some of those words and their meaning. But what I love mostly about this book is the fact that it shows her at work and I believe that the text merely enhances what is going on but the pictures tells and explains a lot. It somewhat brings you into the life of a geologist. ( )
