Color: The Essence of You door Suzanne Caygill (readerlibrary, readerlibrary)
readerlibrary: I recommend Caygill's "Color: The Essence of You" and Angela Wright's "The Beginner's Guide to Colour Psychology" over "Dressing Your Truth" or "It's Just My Nature." Both are similar to Tuttle's books, but Caygill and Wright's books win out over Tuttle's books because they have much more style and color content. Wright studied under Caygill. For 4 Temperament personality type theory information only, I recommend Robert Rohm's "Who Do You Think You Are Anyway?" over "Dressing Your Truth" or "It's Just My Nature." It is similar to Tuttle's books, but Rohm's book wins out over Tuttle's because his book has more personality content; also because he is a PhD-level human behavior expert; Tuttle is an unlicensed EFT Tapping practitioner (NOT a psychotherapist as she claims on her website). Examples of similarities: Caygill Spring: “The face is generally rounded–rounded cheeks, eye, nose, chin—or it may be heart shaped with pointed chin...dimples.” Tuttle Type 1: “Face shape: circular or heart shaped.” “Cheeks: circles...dimples” “Nose: circle shape.” Caygill Spring: "Frolicsome" "Enchanting" "Effervescence" "dapper" "Sprightliness" Tuttle Type 1: "Frolicsome" "Enchanting" "Effervescent" "Dapper" "Sprightly" Caygill Summer: "Picturesque" "S-curve" "soft spoken" "Iridescent" "Etherealness" "Exquisiteness" "Cameos" Tuttle Type 2: "Picturesque" "S-curve" "Soft-spoken" "Iridescent" "Ethereal" "Exquisite" "Cameo-quality" Caygill Summer: “her walk graceful” “with a fluid motion" Tuttle Type 2: “graceful walk...fluid flowing movement” Caygill Summer: “meticulous attention to detail" Tuttle Type 2: “meticulous nature and attention to detail” Caygill Summer: "Usually the fingers are tapered, long and slender." Tuttle Type 2: "Long fingers that taper" Caygill Autumn keyword list: "Resplendent" "Dashing" "Gypsy-like" "Bizarre" Tuttle Type 3 keyword list: "Resplendent" "Dashing" "Gypsy-like" "Bizarre" Caygill Autumn: "Points, as in the contours of a maple leaf" "firm of step " Tuttle Type 3: "Maple Tree...It's leaves are angular" "Walking: firm plant of your feet" Caygill Autumn: "Tangy" "Glowing" "Tawny" "Metallic" "Zestful" "Adventuresome" "Swiftness" Tuttle Type 3: "Tangy" "Glowing" "Tawny" "Metallic" "Zesty" "Adventurous" "Swift" Caygill Winter: “contemporary furnishings...modern design.” Tuttle Type 4: “interior design is what we call modern and contemporary.” Caygill Winter: "roses, large and single" Tuttle Type 4: "a single, long-stemmed rosebud" Caygill Winter: "high cheek bones" "motivated toward perfection" "fir" Tuttle Type 4: "high cheek bones" "tendency towards perfection" "Noble Fir" Caygill Winter: "Suave" "Luminous" "Scintillating" "commanding" "gallantry" Tuttle Type 4: "Suave" "Luminous" "Scintillating" "Commanding" "Gallant" Rohm Type I: "Likes to do things: The fun way." Rohm Type S: “Slow down–help me!” “thinks and considers at a slower pace” Tuttle Type 2: ”You may require others to slow down” “your thoughts are slower” Rohm Type S: “Do not be pushy.” “Don’t put them in a corner, they will crumble.” Tuttle Type 2: “Don’t get pushy…They will retreat.” Rohm Type S: “allow them to ask questions” Tuttle Type 2: “Allow them to ask questions.” Rohm Type D: "checking off their itemized and prioritized 'To Do' list as they accomplish each item" Tuttle Type 3: "check it off my list" "write on our to-do lists tasks we have already accomplished just for the satisfaction of checking them off the list" Rohm Type D: "Killer Statement:'You can't do that!'" Very quick to read. Concise and easy to understand. Will reread in the future as a reference book.
The idea is that Energy Profiling (rather than personality or fashion/color wheel) is the best to to understand yourself and the means to present yourself to the world. Women who may feel misunderstood could find clarity by aligning her natural "energy profile" in alignment to how she dresses and presents herself to the world through fashion/makeup/relationships and self care. Really a wonderful blend of personal wisdom, chakra work, spiritual integrity. I am glad to have this book on my shelf and will continue to explore my type. ( )

Carol Tuttle's books can often read as if they were promotional materials for her services--which they probably are--but there is good, basic introductory material to the concept of the 4 types of energy in this book for those who are unfamiliar with earlier works on the subject, such as those by Jane Segerstrom. Tuttle's books aren't as detailed as Segerstrom's, but they DO provide a low-cost alternative to Segerstrom's, which are out of print.

If Carol Tuttle writes another book, I would like her to do two things:

1. Don't repeat vast passages from a previous book into the newer one, which she unfortunately does with Dressing Your Truth. Truly, this book or DYT, take your pick, because it's basically the same book. Personally, I'd recommend this one, since the great majority of DYT tips come through the course, not the book.

2. Further develop the four movements by introducing the effect of secondary movements on the primary one. A Type 4/1, for example, will express herself differently than a T4/2 or T4/3 would.

For the price, it's a good deal, but there may be more thorough works available if you are willing to do the research. ( )

***Similarities of Dressing Your Truth (DYT) to Caygill, Rohm***
http://expressingyourtruth.blogspot.com/2012/06/more-truth-exposed.html
I couldn't figure out why "Dressing Your Truth" was so similar to Youtube videos by John Kitchener PSC until I noticed Carol Tuttle wrote in "It's Just My Nature" about using notes from "Personal Style Consulting." (John Kitchener PSC?) She also wrote that she was originally typed by Taylore B. Sinclaire in Illuminessence.

Books by Suzanne Caygill and Caygill-trained Angela Wright have similar: energy types, behavior and personality profiling, body language, facial profiling, design lines, textures, fabrications, patterns, prints, colors, jewelry, interior design, keywords, shapes, Yin Yang concepts etc. to "Dressing Your Truth" & "It's Just My Nature." Rohm's "Who Do You Think You Are Anyway?" has similar behavior and personality profiling to "Dressing Your Truth" & "It's Just My Nature." Primary/secondary type blends system named "Signature Style" in Segerstrom's Style Strategy is similar to primary/secondary type blends in "Dressing Your Truth" & "It's Just My Nature."
