Didn't follow what I remember of the books, but it was still really entertaining and the artwork is really well done. Looking forward to continuing the series. ( )

Summary:
Max and her mutant bird friends almost escape the erasers unscathed. Fang is injured but heals quickly. The gang heads to their new friend Anne's house to heal and rest. They start school and struggle with acclimating.

Critique:
This book combines typical anime pictures with action and mystery. The friends deal with their problems as they always do, together. The suspense of not knowing the ending pulls readers into the next novel.

The graphic novel series is not as good as the novel series. Nothing is really explained that well and I do not think that I would be able to follow the series if I had not read the books. I do not feel that the reader can really connect with each individual character in the graphic novel as he or she can with the novel series. The characters are flat and static in the graphic novels which is a major contrast to the the novel series. I do enjoy the overall story line and the artwork. ( )

I keep reading this manga series and I keep loving each new volume I read better than the last one! The illustrations are amazing as is the story line, and they lack in suspense! Also, I LOVE the cover art! A book cover always tells the story but this one does more! This cover makes me want to read the book! I recommend this to all Maximum Ride fans! ( )
