The first story, Sheikh protector didn't really entertain me as much as the second. Sheikh Protector is about Sheikh Karim Abdullah who is in danger from assassins continuously. When Julia comes looking for his brother, who has died recently, he finds himself wondering what she's looking for.

There are some interesting undercurrents with the pagan site and a smidge of paranormal stuff thrown in but not enough to satisfy me. I also have no illusions about the role of women in many arab states and don't find this a subject of fantasy, so overall this was a 3/5 for me; the story was well written and the characters did come to life, it just wasn't for me.

Scions: Revelation is a story of Emma. Emma lives in an isolated farmhouse, working hard, but finds herself caught up in dangerous politics when her aunt, who she lives with, goes missing. Her aunt is her only family so it's quite important to her to find her. Caine enters her life and finds himself not only trying to save her but she starts to become very important to him.

I enjoyed this one more than the first, not quite a 4/5 story but close. The two characters do come across as quite strong and determined and genuinely in love with each other. ( )
