It's a good story but it's definitely one that makes you have to read all the others. There's one storyline in the book that evidently continues from the first book and goes to this book and onto the next.

I sort of cheated when it came to this series.

I discovered the Dark Kings and Dark Warriors before I realized everything started with these novels. So glad I decided to go back and read these.

In "future" books I read about the MacLeod brothers and how awesome they were but didn't know much of their back story. Reading about Fallon...right now he's my favorite but who knows since next I move on to Quinn.
What he went through when his god was unbound and 300 years as an alcoholic...how he came out of the bottle is anyone's guess. Larena, now her story was unbelievable. To be chosen instead of one of her male relatives and then to be cast out of her clan because of it. Insane. I also loved the fact that here we meet Malcolm (who I will give it up right here and now...I love Malcolm! Always have, always will and now I know why I love him!)
Deidre...man, I suspected she was a b*tch but getting it first hand not just through "memories" of the characters...WOWZA!
Now I'm off to read the next one...just wanted to share how much I enjoyed getting to really know Fallon and Larena after seeing them in the other series. ( )

To have a female God and warrior? Awesome. Way to go Larena. ( )

First female Warrior, makes sense to match with the laird MacLeod. Lots of background on other Warriors, I'm guessing this will be a long series.
