This book was a great book for beginning readers. I really liked this book. It would be a great book for students that miss their mothers. The book goes over all sorts of things that mothers do to make them unique. This book can help children understand that all moms are different but they all end up loving their children. I really liked that the author included traditions that a mother would do during the holidays. The message of the book is always appreciate your mother. She brought you into this world, but she can take you out of it too. The illustrations were created with pastels. They were not bright, just very dull with light colors. The illustrations did enhance the text in the book. The audience can look at the pictures and imagine their mother doing the same thing.

A young Tomie dePaola and his mother are the sole characters of this children's book. The pages are filled with wonderful and positive characteristics that his mother possesses and displays. ( )

Classroom extension: A book to share before Mother's day to celebrate all the things mothers do. Also can show the youtube clip of this book as an extension activity. ( )

A beautiful book on how a son sees his mother. It truly is a very heartwarming book that brings the connection between you and your mother while you read it. Teaches to appreciate the little things they do. ( )

It talks about all the things mothers can do. It gives examples that mothers help other children. Mothers can cook for us. Take care of us. Even save us from getting on trouble at school. How mothers are just amazing and they do everthing for us. It makes you appreciate your own mother.
