Journey is a boy who is eleven the summer his mother left him and his sister Cat. They are staying with his grandparents Marcus and Lottie. His granddad likes to take pictures. Journey searches through pictures to find out why and look for happier times. He finds torn up pictures and tries to piece them together, trying to find what he might have missed. Journey wants to know what binds a family together.

Good book. Shows how abandonment can affect children. Even though they may be loved by someone else they can't help feel it's their fault.

A Teacher could use this to show that love is important to everyone. Family needs to take care of each other. Situations can happen that is out of our control and we shouldn't blame ourselves. ( )
