Fourth Estate: a fast-paced murder mystery (Double Blind Book 4), my eleventh read from author Dan Alatorre. I really enjoyed his Gamma Sequence series, this is another page-turning thriller, the fourth in the series, in my opinion, his best to date! The Gamma Sequence: A MEDICAL THRILLER, my fourth read from author Dan Alatorre. I don't restrict myself to a particular genre. I'm a sucker for anything with memorable characters and a story that keeps me guessing and a plot that keeps me turning the page & this book did! I was given an Amazon copy of this book back in December & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Five Sparrows. Dan Alatorre. (Double Bind Book 5) 2022. This is a good police procedure novel set in Florida. Detective Sergio Marshall and is partner Carly Sanderson are asked by a local sheriff to help investigate to murder of a young teen at a private school. In addition to solving the murder, the couple is dealing with their personal relationship. Carly’s ex wants custody of her children so she only wants a professional relationship with Sergio. They solve the murder and leave the relationship hanging for the next book in the series… (meer)
This started brilliantly but lost its shine a little with unnecessary details and then towards the end it became too glib. The characters were reasonably well developed. The fight scenes were good. The premise was almost reasonable. By the end I was fatigued with glossing over my disbelief.
