In the 21st century, the Greek Gods of Olympus have returned to earth in order to rule and create some semblance of peace, but are leaning closer toward control. Everything is now high-tech and digital. Marriages are now arranged among the humans, who are considered little better than chattel, and love is no longer a necessity for most couples.
Psyche enters into an arranged marriage with a man she’s never met in order to pay off her father’s gambling debts. She’s a celebrity and longs for the simple life, which she finds in the arms of her sensual, secretive, and faceless husband Q.
I liked Psyche for the most part, but I didn’t understand why she never asked Q why she couldn’t see his face. She accepted his unusual rules very easily. Since the story is told only from her POV, I didn’t connect well with Q. Even though he later explains his reasons for his deception, Psyche is still made out to be the person in the wrong, not him.
I’m very familiar with the Psyche and Cupid myth, having read it often as a child, and I found this modern retelling interesting and fun. Other than a few minor typos, this novella is well written and fast-paced. I would like to read more stories by Ms. Alleman, especially the ones about Greek myths retold.

Nick and Eden again after more than a decade. Both are adults now but the attraction of their teen years is still there. After the deaths of their fathers, Nick's family became reality TV stars. Eden's mother took her back to Texas. Nick became a basketball star while Eden became a doctor who now lives on the profits of a medical device she invented. As Nick and Eden grow closer, will their families accept their love? What happens when Eden becomes pregnant and Nick is traded? Will it work out for them?

I enjoyed this story. I liked Eden and Nick. His mother was a piece of work who only looked out for her reality show. I liked when Nick stood up to her. I also liked his sister Dynassy who knows what her mother is like, accepts her, but does what she wants. I felt bad for Eden's insecurity over Nick because of her parents and Nick's parents. I was glad when Eden's mother told her the truth about the past so she could be with Nick without worrying he was like their fathers.

I look forward to the rest of the series.

Really entertaining, it was good to see a vulnerability in the Daddy Dom, you don’t usually see that. Good story line. Fantastic narration.

Sophie's husband has been cheating on her and when the time comes to divorce she knows she must follow through. The idea of dating and getting out there though haunts her and when a random meeting introduces her to the life of submission she finds herself looking up anything and everything she can online. When she finds online submissive training she's so intrigued by it that she can't turn it down. The Dom on the other side of the line is creative, he's bossy, and he's got her doing anything he says. Online may not be enough though and when they take the leap to do a session in person anything could happen.

I've been delaying writing this review, because in the end my rating came down to personal preference entirely. I read the entire book, so it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't necessarily right for me. The writing is great, the creativity totally kept my attention, but the general premise of it threw me off. I get online relationships, 110% actually, but how this one played out just...confused me. Sophie is both this quiet teacher and at this same time a submissive freak, awesome, but it didn't make sense. She was so worried about her career and her image, but she was doing things, in public, that I just couldn't actually see her doing. The stuff at home, in hotels, absolutely, but on a car? No. I really liked that the submission to the man over the internet and the phone was super unique, especially the creative methods the Dom used, and how their relationship played out, but the connection didn't feel like it was there. Plus, I didn't expect to be reading emails from the characters the entire novel, I got so bored! I really just wanted to see them in real life acting all this out, so maybe less time online chatting and more time doing these visits. Of course, there's a sequel where I can go get what I want, but I'm just not sure I will.

Very on the fence with this one, it's just unlike anything I've read before and totally threw me off.

I fell in love with a bad boy rocker and his Princess Charming. Honore' and Leo are strangers in the night until their fantasy is hit by a dose of reality. Can they survive the backstabbing of a family matriarch, the unpredictability of life and the heartache of falling in love, with the whole world looking on. Royal Wrecker modernizes the childhood image of love and gives it a naughty, adult twist. Alleman packs all the drama of a soap into a fantasy frame and walked away with my heart.

Dysfunctional breeds more of the same. I received an ARC of The Baller's Secret Baby by Normandie Alleman in exchange for an honest review. The Barnes family are rich, brash and famous. Each has used their god given talent to make headlines. Managed by a controlling mother that makes Kris Jenner seem timid, there is bound to be chaos in their high paced world. In The Baller's Secret Baby, Ms. Alleman examines fame and all it's trappings with a fast paced love story that had my head spinning. Reality, romance and sudster TV combine to tell a complicated love story with grit, heartbreak and heat. The Barnes should be an interesting group. Can't wait to find out more.

This was an interesting book. It was the first time I had read one with a more mature female lead. I enjoyed it immensely. I will definitely keep an eye out for this author.

Normandie Alleman has not let me down yet. This book from her and Jani Kay will keep your heart racing in more ways than one. Between the suspense of seeing what happens between Foster and Addison, the suspense of what Addison is pulling, and the dripping panty action from the heat between those two. I think Foster is my new book boyfriend. He is such an intrinsically good man. Also, Ruby ends up being a barrel of laughs, and not what I expected at all, after what happens when she shows up at Foster's house for Addison. Do yourself a favor and read this.

I have been a long time fan of Normandie Alleman and this is another book to remind me of why. You get a little bit of everything with her every time. There is very steamy romance, suspense, plenty of drama, and sometimes redemption. This book reminded me of what it would be like for someone coming into Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The momager has all her kids on a very short leash. The only thing missing is Kaitlyn. I love that even though they exist, and you know they do, they don't take over Nick and Eden's story. I loved watching their love unfold and getting to go back and revisit when they first found each other as children. This is a great love story with a happy ending. I can't wait to see what the next Barnes family novel will bring.

I have to say that this book was nothing that I was expecting. I have read other BDSM books, but this took it to a whole new level. I’m not sure that I was completely ready to go there, but I did! The writing was so descriptive that I felt like I was in the book and experiencing the story first hand. Some of it was a bit too dark for me, but hey we all have our limits!

I was not too sure how Sophie was going to work out doing the whole cyber Dom/sub relationship. When she started getting attached to MC, I started to worry about her. I thought that maybe she would become one of those girls that gives her life because she feels that she is not good enough for a ‘real’ man.

When the end was near and it looked to be a happy ever after, I was so excited. I thought for sure she would give up her job and move to be with him. Now I have to wait until the next book to actually see what happens. I’m all for a good cliffy, if I know that is what is going to happen, and with this book I did not so I was a little bummed.

Overall, it was a good read. I will get book 2 so I can find out what happens with Sophie and Quentin.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a first for me by this author and trust me, it will not be my last! It was such an original concept for a BDSM book.

Sophie is in a marriage that she doesn't really want to be in but can't bring herself to leave her cheating husband. He does it for her by asking for a divorce. One night she stumbles on a BDSM website and starts chatting with a Dom MC. She becomes fascinated with MC and he becomes her online BDSM mentor/master. Even though they could not cam chat due to her need for discretion, he pushes her boundaries with ordinary household items. And wow... I may not look at some of the same again! Loved that part.!
What I loved most about this story was Sophie. I loved her vulnerability, and her honesty in what she wanted to try. But I really how she ended up finding herself in the most unconventional ways.

I can't wait to read the next installment!!

It wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, but I was surprised how not-light the bdsm part was. Usually there's a little bit of spanking and that's it. Here the reader gets for example fork-play.

I was hoping for more details about the online training, since most novels are about live 'training'. Sadly most solo scenes are mere retellings and rather short, too. More about Sophie's feelings would have been appreciated. Instead it felt a little bit rushed. It gets better when they move on to phone sessions at least.

I had some problems with the language (not the dirt talk, mind you). So much 'clit humming' (I never heard humming used that way before, too) and so much 'that clit/pussy etc.' as well. I was tempted to count how often it was used, to be honest.

The end was very predictable and unrealistic as well. So... romance? Not really. Erotica? Yes.

I still was interested in the story and I may read the next installments as well.

Disclaimer: I was provided through NetGalley with a free copy in exchange for an honest review. Thank you.

The cover showed it would be a historical bodice-ripper, but was not expecting BDSM, some of which was not consensual at the start, so that was a major killer for me.

This is a wonderful book with a very soft touch on BDSM. I have read many books on BDSM and found it hard to finish them. This book I enjoyed because the plot did not shock me. The passion is sizzling hot and the characters very likable.
The story is a mixture of emotions such as suspense, passion, and compassion. The author wraps up the story in a nice package with a twist. I would recommend the book to anyone who enjoys a hot sizzling passionate book.

Twenty-four-year-old Charmaine Bainbridge appears to have it all—beauty, fame, and tremendous wealth—yet behind all the glitz and glamor hides a sad little girl who has been abandoned by every man she’s ever loved.

When firefighter Hunter Baldwin saves Charmaine from a fire in her penthouse apartment—a blaze started by her own carelessness—he’s appalled by her nonchalant attitude. Forced to carry her to safety, he throws her over his shoulder, but not before correcting her behavior with a well-deserved spanking. Something about Charmaine arouses him deeply, and it isn’t just her gorgeous looks. This girl needs to be firmly corrected and thoroughly dominated, and a part of Hunter demands that he be the one to take her in hand.

Though he’s used to charging into burning buildings on a daily basis, Hunter knows taming Charmaine’s wild ways may prove to be his greatest challenge yet. Undeterred, he takes on the role of Charmaine’s daddy dom in hopes of breaking down her defenses and healing her wounds. But can she bring herself to open her heart to him, or will she remain the lonely little rich girl forever?

If you're in the mood for a quick sexy novella about a student/teacher relationship that is a mixture of naughty and nice, then The Professor's Plaything is the book for you!

Party girl Colette Ellis is graduating from college and is applying to grad schools. When Colette starts getting rejection letters, she realizes that getting good grades isn't enough to get admission into grad school, she approaches Professor John McGill and asks him if she can volunteer on a project that he is working on. Professor McGill rejects Colette's request, she breaks down in tears in his office and takes him by surprise when she begins to seduce him. He tries to stand his ground, but he realizes that he can't fight the attraction and finally gives into the pleasure.

The storyline has a steamy mixture of erotica, romance, and BDSM that easily keeps the reader engaged and turning the pages. I loved the difference in the characters: Colette is your typical college party girl and John is a straight laced and serious about his profession. When they give in to their mutual attraction, they soon discover that there is something more between them than just a quick classroom fling. As I was reading the story, I couldn't help but giggle as it reminded me of the Van Halen song Hot For Teacher, aw come on now, tell me y'all never fantasized about one of your hot teachers? *wink, wink*

The Professor's Plaything is one smoking hot erotic romance story that is a quick and thoroughly enjoyable read.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book from the author / publisher in exchange for my honest review and participation in a virtual book tour event hosted by Book Promotions By Literary Nook.

This is a quick read at 68 pages.
At the beginning it's almost sad that Allison has never gotten over Cole even know he had treated her badly and knowing it was not way to live. Then I get a taste of Cole's side that he wants to make things right and Allison has been really the love of his life. When Allison meets Nico I thought oh my he is perfect for Allison but felt like she needed to give Cole a chance to make things right. Well let me tell you Cole is a douchebag! He certainly professes his love for Allison and even know his ways in the bedroom are a bit degrading but it's his actions outside the bedroom that make him the douchebag. I won't say any more than that other than it's a hot little love story. Pretty good ending.
