I won a copy in a giveaway hosted by Shelf Awareness for Andrews McMeel Publishing! Thank you!

This was easily one of the most fun and enjoyable books I have read all year!
I found great joy in winning, receiving, and reading this little book of illustrations.

I had seen bits of her comics floating around the internet, but was unaware of the artist behind them.

Sarah’s comics and illustrations are so creative and humorous. I found myself giggling throughout the book and subsequently a happy mood took a hold of me. Sarah doesn’t shy away from the realities of her life as an artist in the adult world but finds a comical way of portraying. It’s insightful and relatable.

I love that her comics and illustrations aren’t the most amazing drawings you’ll ever see. The simplicity of them works well with the overall feel of her work. It further sends home the message of real and relatable that she seems to be going for.

I also like that towards the end of the book she illustrates a few that are in direct relation to creating and being an artist. Whatever your art is, just go make stuff. This made my artsy, creative heart smile and I delight in owning this little collection. It will be a great reminder as well as a quick pick-me-up read any time I just need a good laugh.

The bottom line? This is a delightful little book of comics that are sure to put a smile on your face. Definitely recommend!

Quite cutesy and punchy in that one-liner kind of way, but ultimately forgettable. There's absolutely nothing wrong with "Fangs" other than every single witty moment or joke is older than a 300-year-old vampire. Bits such as "oh yeah, vampires hate garlic!" or "ooohh my boyfriend is a werewolf, I shall scratch his tummy and he will wag his tail!" get very predictable very quickly. I got to the part where Elsie quips "I worship Satan" as the punchline and realized "Fangs" felt like a 2014 Tumblr doodle comic that had one of those weird cult followings for a year before it died out and became an obscure cringey meme reference. There's nothing wrong with that, and again, it's even kind of fun at times, but lacks substance or anything that feels fresh. "Fangs" is good for an hour of casual reading and maybe a chuckle - nothing less, nothing more.
(P.S. $5 says the word "spoopy" is gonna pop up in several reviews for this book)

Vampire & werewolf fall in love.
Besides really a cohesive plot, just all the moments this entails from their first meeting to moving into together but the art style makes it work.

Between this and 'Fangs', Sarah Andersen has put out some of my favorite humor comics over the last two years. I love the creature designs here, instantly recognizable to any cryptid fan like myself, but simultaneously cute and lovable. I also love the inclusion of both traditional cryptids as well as modern ones from the internet age, and I'm always hungry for more Flatwoods Monster content. Quick and breezy, 'Cryptid Club' is a perfect read for the holiday season.

As an avid lover and prostheletizer of Cryptids, this book was the best! I follow this creator on all my social media and I love her! This book is so funny and cute, and I already had it pre-ordered so I was so excited to be approved for a copy. A must read for any lover of cryptozoology and the lifestyles of cryptids.

I don't have much to say about this. It wasn't groundbreaking or anything, but it was amusing and generally relatable, especially if you're a socially awkward introvert who has trouble adulting.

I somehow like Andersen's scraggly gremlin self-portraits even more now that I've realized Andersen is also the person behind Fangs. The artistic styles are so completely different.

Like Sarah's Scribbles in general, it's pretty cute! definitely feeling like I'm on the other side of 30 from ~checks back of the book~ 28 year old Sarah. Lot of cat related strips in this one.

Sarah Anderson once again is somehow right behind me drawing pictures of my psyche. Herding Cats is a tad more topical, with comics on the anxiety of living in a world that's on fire. There's a narrative bit at the end on how to be a creative in today's internet, which as mentioned is kind of a dumpster fire right now, but she insists you should still create, draw, etc. because it's necessary in these times (though it's also entirely okay to go outside and unplug every now and then too).

Nope it's true, adulthood is a myth. Kind of like when parents would say "when you're an adult you'll understand." but I'm 33 soon and I STILL DON'T GET IT MA.

Anyhow fun, quirky and relatable as hell.

Puns. Sarcasm. Playing with classic horror tropes and lore. Fangs is an episodic collection of a supernatural relationship between a vampire and a werewolf. It's both hilarious and achingly sweet and somehow reminded me of the parody show What We Do In the Shadows. Sarah Andersen is a very talented cartoonist.

Nov. 23, 2021: A really fun comic to revisit for a chuckle.

Fun and Bite-sized

I love how lighthearted and relatable the humor is. The 20's lifepath comic is one of those "it's funny because it's painfully true." The cute art style also adds a certain charm.

This was a fun and quick read. The images were simple yet beautiful, and the text was easy to read.

It follows the relationship between a Vampire and a Werewolf. It shows their support and love for one another.

This is incredibly cute--short comics that give you a glimpse of a relationship between a werewolf and a vampire with Sarah Andersen's humor. LOVE it.

It doesn't matter how old you are or which 'Gen' you belong to. The Sarah's Scribbles Collection is pure entertainment! Funny and relatable , this series is perfect for a good laugh. I've enjoyed all the books in this series and Oddball is no exception. I wish it were longer, though!

Fangs is a comic about the dating life of a vampire and a werewolf. The book starts off with a meet-cute in a bar (rightly called odditorium) and shows the relationship progress. I liked the small details like the vampire girl dressing up in front of a mirror without being able to see her reflection.

While most of the scenes are cute and clever, it also shows the struggles of dating a different kind of monster. I enjoyed reading the tropes one would expect from a story featuring vampires and werewolves. Others may find them cliché.

As a fan of Sarah Anderson's other works which have a simple style of drawing, I expected the art to be similar and was pleasantly surprised. It is still simple, which I think suits this concept, but is an upgrade from the previous ones. This was a light read and brought a smile on my face.

I received a free digital copy of this book from the publisher. This has not influenced my rating or review in any way.

P.S. I liked the subtle dig at Twilight.

Fangs by Sarah Andersen is an absolutely adorable little graphic novel that is a must read for romance and fantasy readers.

I was pleasantly surprised and enchanted by this book! It was a great and adorable little read! It's quick and easy to read, and quite fun! The book gives off a slice of life vibe but from monsters, making it highly comedic yet super sweet.

Three out of five stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing.
