I am an Early Reviewer and received the ebook in 3 formats. I read one on my iPad and as I read was troubled to find misspellings, word choice errors, missing words or added words - simple editing mistakes. I gather that while LibraryThing does try to obtain at least almost final copies to distribute, whether that's what they get is up to the publisher. Unfortunately, the publisher in this instance leaves it to the author. Thus the problem.
I did highlight issues I found and have communicated with the publisher and author about those, glad to share. So far no word.
In any event, that's the reason for my 4 review - I had not read Messiah [book 1] but did find this book very interesting, good characters and good story - I was able to follow along fine and ignoring the mistakes, focusing on the content itself, found it interesting and educational, And I will probably get Messiah and the 3rd book and hope that some editor touched them.

"Tribune" continues the story about the Bar Kokhba Revolt. The book was very interesting and hard to put down. I enjoyed reading and learning more about this event. This book can be read without reading the first book. Guy Alston did a great job summarizing, as needed, to give us an understanding of the contents from the first book. I am looking forward to reading the third book when it is released.… (meer)

I knew very little about the history of this time and event. That is why I wanted to read this book. The book was very thorough in its information of life and Roman/Jewish cultures and conflicts of that time. It helped me to understand what was going in in the Jerusalem area during Roman rule of that time. It was well written and very interesting. If you like history, I think you will like this book.
