This non-spoiler review encompasses the entire series, not just the first title.

Each story in the series takes place in the Borderlands, a wild frontier between the lands of men and the lands of monsters and magic. And each independent story follows a different young woman as she experiences her sexual awakening at the hands (or paws, or hooves, or tentacles) of some inhuman being, male or female. There are plenty of sorceresses, minotaurs, orcs, and goblins, but you'll also encounter a winged demon or two, some slimy toad-like fellows, some erotically-charged plant life, and a kraken.

While there is a common theme to each story, the characters and plots vary widely, so each episode is fresh and rewarding. The settings have a Tolkeinesque quality of dark enchantment, and the plots are engaging enough that many of the stories would be worth reading even without the sex scenes--not that you would want to miss them, of course.

Highly recommended. Give the first Borderlands episode a try. If you like it, you'll want to read the rest. Though they share a common background, they can be read in any order.… (meer)
