Captivating subject matter, with a great opening chapter on the roots of l'extreme droite en France (contre revolution, royalisme, nationalisme, l'homme fort). Strenghts of each chapter vary depending on author - a shame. Also illustrates what I find to be a problem with French non fiction: the lack of context, assumption that the reader knows (if so, why read?) certain details. For instance, why little on l'assassinat de Plateau, on l'affaire stavisky, why so little on the fall of Boulanger. Would have been stronger for having details as such
