Two prefaces, written in (MDCCCXCVIII) 1898 and 1921 (MCMXXI), for the first and second editions, and a brief reference for abbreviations used to identify which resource was used for parts of the work, with numbered stanzas to help one keep one's place. This work is entirely written in Latin, including the footnotes at the bottom of each page.

I confess that I wish they'd put page numbers on the book, but Oxford Classical Texts are otherwise such a remarkable joy that page numbers are a very small thing. A remarkable effort, and worth every penny.
